Can a cell phone battery explode due to over charging?

Thanks goodness I don't have one but considering the damage it causes I won't take a chance with any other either!

@sarabee1995: lately I have been getting a lot on watsapp about exploding batteries. It may be any make and model I don't intend taking any chance

I know carriage of one of Samsung model is forbidden in aeroplanes bcz it can catch fire

@xbandoleerx: That's the [b]Note 7[/b]. Several instances of exploding batteries, several more caught fire. Faulty design of that one model.

It's off the market now for a while and the replacement was just announced (although they dropped the name "Note" altogether).

@xbandoleerx: Just that it's only one model (the Note 7) that they've had trouble with. I have a Samsung phone, but a different model, and I love my phone.

Android is so far ahead of iOS that there is no comparison! I had an iPhone. I'll never go back.
