Have you ever tried fixing your smartphone LCD by yourself? Was it safe?

In short, I have two smartphones of the same model and both are broken.
1st smartphone: Motherboard is broken
2nd smartphone: LCD is broken

I brought both to some shops and they won't repair because the smartphones are old models (five years ago) and they don't have the spare parts and won't order a bunch of specific spare parts just to fix my smartphones.
I found out the problem by asking them.

Now I suddenly got the idea that maybe I could fix one of them myself, which is by taking out the LCD from the 1st smartphone and use it to replace the 2nd smartphone.
I just don't know how to do it and what tools do I need.
Have you guys done it and how?

I haven't done it but a friend of mine does and says it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. There's step by step instructions on most phone fixing stuff on YouTube, that's what the aforementioned friend did to learn how

Smartphones are a pain in the ass once they start to go wrong.
There are people and places that do repairs but the cost is often prohibative.
Could try markets and marketplaces as they sometimes have folk who do this sort of thing.
Pineapple is right though. There are a few 'How-to' instructional vids on youtube. All depends how dextrous you are and how confident.
