How could the Universe Collapse in on Itself?

How could the universe stop collapsing in on itself, if it stops expanding? Does it deal with the fact that it's either still or moving in on itself? Thanks in advance.

Use the energy up in hasty moments and the collapse is inevitable

Oh, so if the energy was "used up" then the only thing it could do would be to start collapsing in?

@Animore: Look up Stephen Hawking's version of the Big Bang

@MikefromEP: Alright, will do that, thanks.
