VHS and Cassette tapes were awful and this Nostalgia wave is mental illness not something rational
Magnetic tape recording died for a reason and now these Gen X idiots are all like but the Sony Walkman is why you even use headphones and all gunning for the Old 1979s version of the thing like I want a walkman too but I want the modern version. not the 1979s Cassette player. Shit went out of Fashion for a reason but then Nostalgia kicked in and people Forgot how terrible the past was.
After the 1000th Cassette player Ate my tapes I was just done. They don't transfer to other Cassette tapes well at all the audio breaks down over time.
Hell if you're like "but we used to record television to play back later" that's what DVRs are for. we still do.
Plus who the hell could miss all the hassle of "Please be kind, Rewind"?
The way I can just skip directly to the track I Want with CDS and even better than that endlessly repeat whatever I want to play is just so convenient and don't even "MIX TAPES FOR MY LOVED ONES" me dude Burning that Shit with NERO is easy.

Going back to CDs I get but going all the way back to Vinyl and Cassette tapes is an experiment in madness and it's happening. Most of the kids these days won't even know what Vinyl was too. Hell by the time I came around it was just a Collection of Vinyl disk from the 60s my old man had lying around and carried with us from place to place but I had a binder full of CDs.
and even he wanted software and hardware to transfer the vinyl recordings to CDs.
