Points to Ponder

Today's technology is awesome. However, it is only a part of one's life. One can still do wonders with very minimal technology. One need not become too dependent.

Hey, FORTRAN was robust! lol
A few decades ago, there was still a ton of legacy code in FORTRAN libraries used by scientists...from decades before that.

The cheapness of RAM & ROM, and ubiquity of fast clocks has made programmers lazy.

They were able to push an update not too long ago.

At some point, within about a year, the Plutonium radioisotope will run out of juice, and that will be the end of Voyager 1 transmissions. Amazing.

@Northwest It is an amazing piece of equipment. That will be a rather sad moment, somehow, when it finally turns off, even though all machines wear out eventually.

And there it will still be, but I don't know if it will keep moving ever further from the Sun or go into a comet-style orbit.

But we do know. It will eventually resurface in the 23rd century, destroys three Kilngon ships and observation post Epsilon 9.
