Should children be genetically engineered?

This book I got the other day is fascinating, but it's giving me the heebes jeebus. What's your opinion on the matter? Is it ethical? Will all humans be genetically engineered in the future? What are the potential risks and rewards?

The biggest argument in favour is where it is to avoid a know inherited genetic issue... but when draw the line? Cystic Fibrosis? Sounds good but what about addiction... hair colour... athletic prowess?

This debate sounds like that which was happening with eugenics in the early 20th century. That espoused selectively breeding humans, like we do with cattle, pigs, dogs, horses, cats etc to enhance certain traits over others.
