How do I check my laptop battery's health?

I tried googling it, I tried to run the cmd, but nothing is showing up as described in the websites I'm looking at!!!
If someone can walk me through it, that'll be really great!

Re-boot, hit f12 and run diagnostic. It will tell you about battery health. Its normal for battery heath to go down over the years. Mine dided in three years.

It should work irrespective of OS. If you dell, hp etc, you can google how to check for your lappy model.

Yeah, I already googled it and it just confused me. But I'll still try it when I'm done using my laptop today

On the battery itself there maybe a button to push that lights up a LED indicator

Do you mean I should see a light on the outside of the battery? If so, mine does not have a light like that

@hiddenkitty: mine has a raised bubble and when pushed the LED's show up

Okay. Is it on the outside of the battery, or do I have to take the battery out to see that light?

how long does it last after you unplug it from the charger?
hiddenkitty · 26-30, F
Yes, it used to be 3 hours or so. I really can't remember what the battery life was like when I first got it.

@hiddenkitty: sounds like it's going out; it'll be time for a new one soon or limp along for a while till it's time for a whole computer.

Computers can be so expensive. I want to make it last aslong as possible, especially since my phone is also showing signs of aging. But I do plan buy a replacement battery at the very least

What os are you running?

Windows 7

What is your battery doing that you are checking the health exactly? Depending on its age, it's probably just time for a new one.

Yesterday, my laptop started showing me a sign that says "Consider replacing your battery." I turned on my laptop today, and that sign along with a white X in a red circle, and these signs are not going away. And yeah, I'll probably end up getting a new battery for it soon

Get a new computer

I'm planning on getting a new laptop battery since that's a lot cheaper than a laptop. But a website said I can check my battery's lifespan to know for sure if my battery will die soon
