I was going through the dollar store - and saw this pad of paper called "notepad"

and it reminded me of the "letter paper" we used to use when we actually wrote with our hands (often in cursive) to other people and stuck it in an envelope.

weird huh? you might have to wait 4 or 5 days for it to be delivered - and if you wanted it to be quicker you would buy an "air mail" stamp.

wow. now you type it out and punch a button and BAZINGA - it's in their mailbox which is accessable with that portable handheld computer we call a phone (and almost never use as a phone)

But you anticipated that mail. You wouldn't ignore an envelope. You would ALWAYS open a closed envelop. Now you can get along with a few unopened messages and ignore them forever.

@being that's so true

I have good news Pretzel - all is not lost.
This past year we've sent actual greeting cards and letters to grandchildren.
They flipped over getting something in the mail!
It may still be something salvageable.

@Budwick And remember the old phrase: "the check is in the mail"?

So nice to receive a physical card or letter with the senders writing,though!😊

And the time it used to take to draw those emojis .............😷
Anachronisms, one and all!
