Im afraid of my body decomposing after death, what should I do?

I don't want my body to decompose and feed worms and birds.

In Victorian England they used to leave a cord leading from the coffin to a small bell mounted near the grave, and families would hire someone to stay near the grave for several days in case the deceased ‘revived' and needed to be rescued 😀
@newjaninev2 I’ve heard it stated that prior to embalming practices, a body would start emitting gases as it broke down and as those gases managed to penetrate through the soil especially at
night, would upon hitting fresh air, briefly glow.
The one phenomenon associated with a body’s break down despite embalming was exploding casket syndrome.

@soar2newhighs Ah yes, the dreaded exploding casket syndrome! 😀

Now you mention it, yes, I seem to recall something about the gases glowing.

Victorian graveyards must have been veritable hives of activity. Bells ringing, coffins exploding, gases glowing...
@newjaninev2 And the” walking dead“ “aka vampires” ; those poor souls thought dead, buried, only to awaken entombed but some lucky enough to have gotten out, only to be seen by those who thought them departed.
