Please help

I was trying to watch a movie on 123movies. I was trying to exit the usuall popups ads cause it will eventually play the movie. But a pop up I was about to exit out of disappeared and I accidentally clicked grant permission. Now my phone is doing crazy stuff.

Remove sim. Do a factory reset to default settings. Reinsert sim. Load up apps you want.

Ps I've had the play store hanging issue. My workaround is to delete all data on the phone via settings for play store and play services. Restart the phone start play store. It'll say something like rebuilding database which takes a while but after that it was OK for me

@SW-User this.

It looks as if this is going to need professional attention, and quickly because you don't know what else this malicious software is doing, or how it's using your phone to spread it to others.

I would first notify all my regular contacts - family and friends - of the problem, stop using the phone as a matter of course immediately and take it to a specialist dealer, though none may be available at present.

At best I would turn it on ONLY to make ONLY telephone calls or brief texts, and use it for the Internet only in very limited ways and only when absolutely necessary; and NO e-mails!

Though it's easy for me to say as use land-line telephone, broadband PC and a simple PAYG portable, but if it was my only means of communication I realise that could cause other problems.

In the last resort it may mean a new account and number.

@SW-User Oh? What I suggested is something of a last resort, I admit.

It looks though as CreateTVT has tried everything else but this virus has been designed to protect itself from anything the user can do.

How would you suggest dealing with it?

It's not the only reason, but the risk of such problems, and breakdowns, is partly why I have more than one communications method, and no "smart"-phone.

@ArishMell I already posted

@SW-User Sorry - I'd not spotted it. Thank you.

Did it install something? If not, reinstalling the browser you used might fix it.

@CreateTVT if you do a factory reset you will lose all pics
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@SW-User I've always had to manually wipe storage after a factory reset to get rid of photos.
SW-User
@SwampFlower I lost all my photos when I done a reset
SW-User
Ah damn, you'll have to reset it to factory settings to get rid of it

Follow the advice of everyone who's recommending you do a factory reset, and stop trying to watch movies for free, there's a catch, and you're just finding our what that is.
You need a vpn create sites like this that is movie sites like this require the use of a vpn

Any login credentials you have stored on your phone need to be updated after you reset you phone. and if you do not have MFA on your accounts then you need to get it setup.

Also if you are going to use 123movies or a similar site, use a burner device.

Go to your browser settings and you should be able to remove it

@SW-User where is that
SW-User
@CreateTVT see those 3 little dots up at the top
Paliglass · 41-45, F
@CreateTVT I'd still factory reset the phone.

Also what Arish said he may be right. There could be other things attached to it and it could pass to other phones that have their NFC switched on.

First it could access the phone software and then from there install whatever it wants. Plus who knows if there's now a piece of code that over rides factory resets.
Mmiker · 46-50, M
Can you restart the phone?
CreateTVT · 36-40, M
@Mmiker doesnt do anything. Battling this virus thing two weeks now $5 zoner security shows it but wont delete it. It has control over all my security aps.
he has to get a vpn Miker @Mmiker
