I don't think I ever had, now that I think about it. Reportedly, people's beliefs are rooted in "gut feelings", and people only use reason to justify those gut feelings. Facts that don't support the gut feelings are discarded as lies, rumors, etc, while other facts that support the gut feelings are embraced as the "real truth".

I have. Not by attacking or trying to "guilt" them, but in little gradual ways over time. Mainly but not exclusive to, their views and treatment of the non-human life we share the earth with.
