I don't think I ever had, now that I think about it. Reportedly, people's beliefs are rooted in "gut feelings", and people only use reason to justify those gut feelings. Facts that don't support the gut feelings are discarded as lies, rumors, etc, while other facts that support the gut feelings are embraced as the "real truth".

Sad.

I think so. But it is not by imposing your dogma or ideas but more like inviting a mindset.
That said I do not remember when people just told me ah you are right but more like observing them afterwards. Some will naturally be more open minded.
