I'd use electrodes and look for where the soul is produced in the brain.

@Lostpoet 😂

@MartinTheFirst Why is that funny? They've found the area in which consiousness is produced in the brain. I want to know what part of the brain produces the feeling of the self.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Lostpoet Well first of all you cant study something that's subjective. The awareness of self can be described in a number of ways and it's not as tangible as a motoristic function that you can turn on and off already at will. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack without quite knowing what you're looking for. You have no way to control it's state because it's constantly active, so if the brain lights up in a certain area you have no idea if that's it or not... also shoving electrodes arounds i quite barbaric, what you need is a new sophisticated tool.

@MartinTheFirst She said ethics weren't involved so I'd give the poor soul no anesthesia. This has actually been done before it just wasn't documented and they didn't understand how the mind worked. When the first started doing Hemispherectomy for seizure patients. When one of the doctors were poking around the patient told him to get out of his soul. And though it seems creepy af to me I want to know if the feeling of having a soul is real or if it's just in the mind.

@Lostpoet 😂 so unsientific that its hilarious.. but you go ahead, its your own experiment to perform
Lostpoet · M
@MartinTheFirst I don't understand how it's unscientific if actual scientists have tried it.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Lostpoet oh dear 😂
Lostpoet · M
@MartinTheFirst You are pissing me off little punk. 😠

@Lostpoet you should be my assistant I would let you play with lab rats. 🤓🤪
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Lostpoet sorry it's just your notion of science amuses me. But it's not like I'm laughing at you, but more like when you drew in art class in school and your friend next to you drew a dog that resembles a sausage more than anything else. You laugh together because it's funny. :D
Lostpoet · M
@SW-User I don't want to do it because I have morals the question was if ethics didn't play apart in it.
SW-User
@Lostpoet I said play with them in a good way like a pet not shove electrode in them. 😂
Lostpoet · M
@MartinTheFirst I know a few things about neurology and though my explanation of what I might do sounds simple it isn't outside of how they are exploring how the mind works. This was a hypothetical question anyways.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Lostpoet okay so you might have simplified it a bit for this comment? fair enough

@Lostpoet dude cerebral cortex produces consciousness in and out of Brian.
Lostpoet · M
@SW-User Check out this story: Researchers find a "consciousness switch" deep in the brain https://flip.it/uvCIWk from Flipboard.

@Lostpoet did you know through deep meditation one can go to that point and where no thoughts exists. It can connect with subconscious mind and with that it can dissolve all the thoughts and can make mind more clear.
Lostpoet · M
@SW-User but do you still have a sense of yourself?
SW-User
@Lostpoet I have changed my habits. Even though I have cut off my sleep at night and go to early morning group meditation. Once you go deep you become unconscious. I feel empty and sometimes don't even know if I am breathing or not.
