Do you know what adiabatic lapse rate is?
It is simple. rising air cools as it rises (Boyle's law) and warms as it comes down. It cools more slowly if it is full of moisture as it rises and it warms more quickly as it descends if it is dry. In Alberta we call it a Chinook. In Europe they call it Foehn. It happens where ever there is mountains and moist winds. Even in Antarctica. For those who may not know there was unusually warm readings at one weather station in Antarctica. Global warming? Nope just a chinook/foehn condition. Too Funny!!! And silly people fell for the scam again.
