Have you ever programmed a robot?

CharlieZ · 70-79, M
Yup.

Of course, the popular image of a human like robot is more folckloric than useful.
Most of actual robots are have more restricted and focused purposes and a design according to them.
They differ from tradittional machines in having a wider but still limitted repertoire or behaviors and some better resources to choose which behavior to perform related to alternative conditions, all focused in same general task.
What showed to be less productive was the old dream of early AI when we used the term GPS, not with it´s actual meaning, but as a conjectural to be developed General Problem Solver.

In such terms, yes, programming very different kinds of relativelly wide scope automation devices had been part of my professional work.
Though never the core of it.
