Do you think that the universe is infinite?

Or is it finite.

The universe is finite, it had a beginning, and it will have an end.

@BiblicalWarrior What makes you think that the universe had a beginning?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 So you think the universe is eternal?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@hippyjoe1955 We’ll first need to define ‘eternal'
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 Define what is a beginning.

newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@hippyjoe1955 Why? It’s not a term that I have introduced here
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@newjaninev2 The kind of ones on wich Einstein was thinking when said about "common sense".😁
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 So you believe the universe doesn't exist?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@hippyjoe1955 What does that question have to do with anything? Please clarify whatever point you might be trying to make
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@newjaninev2 Don´t waste your time, Janine.
You can´t milk a chicken nor extract meaning from him.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 Either the universe has a beginning or?????
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@CharlieZ Says you whom I think of as a clown who thinks he does 'science'. Bwahahahahaha!!!! GASP!
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@hippyjoe1955 As you seem unable to explain your own reasoning, allow me to guess...

You follow the simplistic reasoning ‘whatever exists had a beginning’, so I imagine you’re trying to apply that here.

Unfortunately for your aphorism, you have failed to establish what is supposed to have begun.

You confound ‘the beginning of the universe’ and ‘the beginning of an expanding universe’.

Big difference

@AgapeLove lol.

@AgapeLove We don’t argue. That would require a degree of rational communication. it’s difficult to argue with someone who merely says something and then runs away... then returns much later and says the same thing before yet again running away.

@AgapeLove Sorry to disappoint you but I am married to a very smart and accomplished woman that I love deeply. She has everything to offer that the target of my scorn on SW lacks.

@hippyjoe1955 Said by one who agrees with those who define science by doing it and about someone who tries but, never can, to redefine Science from mere philosophic "rationality" (as the Scholastic philosophers) and from the pseudo scientific babbling of the ones who never in history gave ONE contribution to Science, like St Agustine and bishop Berkeley in the past and the Dyscovery Institute today.
