Ever do a thought experiment to see if anyone is paying attention?

Yesterday I posted a question about the moon. I had all kinds of comments trying to dispute my observation. The moon is younger, the moon's sped up or slowed down or both. I was called an anti science and relying on the Bible and..... The fact is I put up bogus numbers. I said the moon was millions of miles out of place. In fact the numbers are that if the moon is 4.5 billion years old and moving away from the earth at 1.5 inches per year it would take over 42,000 years to move a mile. 4.5 billion years means the moon has moved about 108,000 miles. Funny how the science crowd is incapable of doing basic checks on big numbers.
