Can somebody teach me the fine art of reverse image searching?

Even when I do it with pics that I'm sure should be somewhere on the internet, I seem to get no hits, either with Tin Eye or Google. What are the tricks to this?

@SW-User Thanks! I'm getting hits here where I wasn't with the others I was using!

Try reversing the image and scanning again .

@TexChik Not sure what you mean by "reversing the image". Can you explain?

@LookingForIt987 flip it over ... so it’s backwards of the original , some do that because it won’t be detected by a lot of the search engines

Ah, I see. Thanks!

I used to have that on a old laptop but the newer versions of windows don't allow it anymore :(

What do you want to find?

@Cheekyhannah I just realized you replied to this. I must've missed the notification. Oops.

I find it to be a good (not great, certainly not perfect) way of finding when a fake account is contacting me. I actually had one recently. Sent me a supposed picture of her adult daughter's well-spanked bottom; it's a picture from on the net. Same person sent me a picture (fully clothed!) of her 14 year old grand-daughter. That picture has been on the internet since 2012.

@Anopenheart Yandex seems to work better for me, to be honest. I've had Google say there are no matches, and Yandex finds the picture in a bunch of places. Tineye seems to be about as reliable as Google.

@Anopenheart Me either. But at least over the last month, it's been more effective for me. I've still been using Google and Tineye in addition to Yandex, so I can compare them a bit.
