What makes one laptop cost so much more than another laptop?

besides the screen size?
Fangirlsarah1996 · 26-30, F
Who made it.

How many stickers they put on it saying who made it.

What free software it comes with on day one.

You think the tiny gnomes that flip all the switches inside work for cheap?
You make a fine point!
The quality of it's internal components. and sometimes a little bit of arrogance.

I haven't a clue. I recently purchased a very nice HP Pavilion for $329. Has a huge screen!
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Meowsolini: i got a HP pavilion mini, awesome computer for that price, quality stuff like that does not get sold anymore for that kind of money. The only flaw was the vista OS, but that got replaced somehow... cough

@MartinTheFirst: Good for you!
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Meowsolini: i sold it to my ex for 250 euro after using it for 5 years ... 😅

Processor speed. RAM increase (They can cheat you on this one. RAM does not mean a better PC). Hard drive size. Overall reliability of laptop. And plenty more.
Memory space, speed, other options and details..
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Stuff like "advanced led tech" mounted beneath the keyboard and customized appearence as well... 😂😂😂
Lol

memory, cpu, components, type of hdd.
Socialclutz · 36-40, M
I'm no computer techy, but i think you want a minimum of 4 GB Ram, my current one has 2 and i am convinced that slows this ocmputer down at times. Seems that many of the pcs are big, slow, and clunky.
Rokasu · 36-40, M
4 is a surefire minimum for laptops. 6 is a better grounding and 8 should do everything you need.
KingofPizza2 · 36-40, M
Quality of components, how much advertising the company does and wants to recoup... There can be a lot of factors, some justifiable and some just corporate greed.
Fernie · F
corporate = greed...no exceptions
AnukBinary · M
The ram and rom how many gb and the processer. Why you looking for a puter?
Fernie · F
what is ram? "run a muck?"
AnukBinary · M
😂 Random access memory.
dreadcrumbs · 26-30, M
@Fernie: Ok if you didnt know what RAM was you probably have no idea what it does so I will try to explain this to you.

Your hard drive is too slow for your processor to grab information from when running an application in real time.

RAM, however, is much faster. When you double click a program, the program is loaded to RAM and the processor exchanges information with the RAM to make the program run much faster.

If your computer is going slow, chances are it's because of a low amount of RAM. If not that then you should check your processor then graphics card.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Maybe how much ram there is in there, and the graphics card, idk much about it though
dreadcrumbs · 26-30, M
Things like Graphics card, disk space, RAM, processor, extra card slots, etc
SoundHound · 56-60, M
RAM/memory speed, storage amount, etc.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Intelcore i5 - 4 gb ram - samsung ssd. It should be just fine, but wont be the best tbh. Pay notion to what type of i5 you buy as well, theres good ones and bad ones.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
The processor usually, as well as the memory and graphics card.

@Givuparedy: also the war between OS, mac is very attractive to people nowadays so they can set the price high without any real justification for it component-wise.
