No ... You can up the memory and perhaps a SSD drive but not the cpu. You would be surprised to know that what may seem like a slow cpu is actually a slow drive with slow read and write speeds. SSD addresses that.
I'd upgrade the ram before a ssd

Ram will only take you do far. SSD will take it much further for the money. Just my opinion

And how can I do all this?
A ssd is only good if there are no other bottlenecks in the system. The computer will boot faster and apps will load faster. It won't offer performance gains for gaming.

I give up. If you think there are no performance gains to a game being able to read and write data 100 times faster. Disk IO is the number one throughput bottleneck in a computer and will adversely affect gaming as well as many other types of software. I digress.

U guys lost me.

Sorry. We got off track. You have a Best buy where you live?

@Prandall: can't go nowhere for anything unfortunately. Long story.
@Prandall: a ssd will improve load times. That's it.
Gpu, cpu, and ram are the keys to actual game play improvements.

I just wanna play borderlands....
@DeathAngelS300: look up the minimum requirements for the game and see where you are lacking.

@SooperSarah: I did... CPU speed. That's why I asked about that.
