Thank you for your question. I hope you will not mind, but you might be interested in looking up the standard model, Quarks are rather interesting! Even the exotic one such as charm and strange.
My humour is rather bad, so not sure I will be the right to ask for the question. I just felt that it was worth mentioning the standard model hope that is alright.
Best of wishes.

@AllAboutTheFacts Thanks for your scientific encouragement. I was just reading about CERN and some happenings there. Apparently they discovered some new particles. Meanwhile a scientist giving a speech there insulted women. So I decided to read about quarks in order to try and understand what the excitement is about. The whole thing still goes way over my head but it's still interesting.

Glad to hear so. I am not familiar with that speech, so I am not able to comment on it. However, CERN has had some amazing discovery. One incident there could be a bit fun. At some point, a group of people were doing some measurement, and they found a particle that moved fast than the speed of light, which is not allowed regarding special and general relativity. So the group of scientists went in a small panic, tried to look through the data and calculation! But could simply not understand it, so they had to publish the data. Physicist around the world did not believe it, so a lot went to CERN to find the error. Cause it would very scary if it really was the case since a lot of the science and observation on CERN relay on special relativity (And if you ask me relativistic physics is AMAZING!). However, the error was found, and it was simply one cable that was "plugged" in the wrong place.
That was quite the drama on CERN!
I hope you keep reading, cause the nature and universe we live in, is so amazing!

Just reading about the revolutionary heat resistant product Starlite , capable of resisting the thermal onslaught of a nuclear blast, was discovered by a ladies hairdresser!

@AllAboutTheFacts Lol. That's an awesome story bro, thanks. Just from the small amount I know about physics I can imagine the panic that must have caused. They must have been really worried. 🙂

Oh boy, they were indeed. One of the professors I had doing a course about Special Relativity, happened to be there when all the scientists came to look at it, he says it was very crowded. It is really troublesome! Nothing scarier than one of our foundation theories being threatened in majors ways!

@AllAboutTheFacts I can just imagine the sweat breaking out on a lot of scientific brows. Lol. 🙂

It is sort of equivalent for a mathematician not releasing that the proof he is starring at is a false proof. Just panic all over the place. 1=2 is a lovely false proof to pull on someone once in a while, lol.
I hope you will not mind me sharing one of Carl Sagan interviews, one of my favourite. I am not a fan of the video editing in the video, but the speech is golden for me.

@AllAboutTheFacts Thanks. At midnight I'll have more online data so I'll check it out then. It's now 23:34.

Seems we are in the same time-zone, then. I wish you the best of luck, and hope you enjoy the interview.

@AllAboutTheFacts Well I'm pleased to meet you similar time zone Denmark cousin. I hope all goes well for you all up and in the north there.

@Wraithorn
Thank you very much. It has been a pleasure meeting you as well. I hope everything is going your way in the south (Which I assume, since you referred to Denmark as being north). I wish you the best of luck, and if you have any questions about quarks or books about it. (or physics), just let me know.

@AllAboutTheFacts I watched the video and it's great. Carl Sagan was a Gem. He seemed to have Humanity's best interests at heart.
When an atheist like him is kind and helpful then that is a lesson in true compassion. He didn't believe that a god required him to be helpful, nevertheless he was.
I think that people like Richard Dawkins are similarly compassionate because of their concern for Humanity and truth. I think that courage also plays a part.

I am glad that you enjoyed it. My favourite human trait is humility, it is one of the things that I can not find a valid argument to have too much of. One just has to have a clear line of when it stops being humility and something else. Though one argument is if some people can be kind. Then the potential for all humans should be present. That is an amazing thought, at least in my opinion.

@AllAboutTheFacts It's not just your opinion bro.
"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."
-- Nelson Mandela.

A lot can be said about Mandela. But he did manage to come with some quite beautiful quotes, just like that one you posted.
"We must learn to live together as brothers or perish as fools" - Martin Luther King Jr.
