Then the process begins all over again, and that is the solution to the problem of infinite regress? It's counter intuitive but as NDT said, "the universe is under no obligation to make sense to you"

@ButterRobot heat death isn't permanent, though, at very long time scales quantum effects start becoming significant

@ButterRobot in a classical universe, that's true. In a QM universe, it's statistically more likely to increase but wait long enough and the outliers eventually happen.
