Are old point and shoot cameras better than new smartphone cameras?

I have an 8 year old sony cybershot point and shoot camera that I hadn't used in a while, and a Galaxy note 8 smartphone (which came out less than a year ago). I took a few pictures with both and compared...they didn't seem like that much of a difference! But IDK.

I have a purple Sony cybershot as well. The pictures from my Samsung camera phone looks better for some reason.

@MntoNc Around 8 years as well. I have a 5-year old phone. Hmm... maybe I should re-assess those pictures. You may be right. 😅

@SW-User if you look at my photo album with 6 photos, the only one taken with the cybershot is me in Barnes and Noble. The others are with the note 8. What do you think?
