Sodium. Because it's explosive.
@abe182 yea I like all the explosive ones too.😀
DaughterOfTheDust · 26-30, F
Mercury. It’s beautiful and magical in liquid form. It can both heal and poison. Plus, it’s also the name of a planet.

@Hikurai That’s true! I remember it now from Greek/Roman mythology. I’m a Libra 😇 thanks
Hikurai · 41-45, M
@DaughterOfTheDust then Venus / Aphrodite is your goddess. I get along GREAT with Libras.
unknownpoetx · 36-40, M
@DaughterOfTheDust heal with mercury. lol. good luck with that.
I like silicon. It is used as a substrate for semiconductors and used for its covalent bonding for stability.
@Hikurai
Engineering definitely has its challenges. I have a graduate degree but not anything solidly based on math/Calculus.

@SomeLikeItHot Well, I actually have a degree in English... kinda fell into engineering.
@Hikurai
Mine is Voc/Tech Ed and 12 hours of grad in CS.

even helium is more common then oxygen. I guess I was also going to go with oxygen or helium but now im going with Unununium its also called Roentgenium Roentgenium is named for scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röentgen, who discovered X-rays.
it was discovered by Peter Armbruster and Gottfried Münzenber in late 1994.
I was born in 1994

@Girlyfriendcollecting Yes, helium is more common than oxygen but hydrogen is more common than helium. Roentgen was an amazing physicist along with Marie Curie who discovered Radium and Polonium.
@Hikurai 😀😊yea there are so many really good scientists.I wrote a paper on michel faraday on his electromagnetism and electrochemistry. I used to really like him. Are there any living really well known scientists? I know the ones like Stephen Hawking (who died this year) and science channel ones but I mean someone who has a well known discovery that everyone uses? I found this site https://superscholar.org/features/20-most-influential-scientists-alive-today/
Hikurai · 41-45, M
@Girlyfriendcollecting yes Faraday is quite awesome along with James Maxwell Clerk, Volta, Arthur Collins... all electrical geniuses and ultimately my heroes.
reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
hydrogen, essential to make water and a major component of the sun so life being impossible without water , both the water that supports life and the sun that nourishes it are made up of a majority of hydrogen. and its the fuel of the future being the cleanest.
Hikurai · 41-45, M
@reflectingmonkey Yes hydrogen is amazing and probably my second favorite element. It is the most common element in the universe and truly a bringer of life in so many ways.

This was definitely a hard one. I've been asked so many times, but I usually tell them I don't have favourites. If I had to choose one, it would be Iridium. Corrosion resistant, has a high melting point. That's how I like my humans, haha. Although, it's not the first thing you'd feel like handling or working with.
Hikurai · 41-45, M
@SW-User Oh no... Iridium is highly dangerous to humans. Electrons flying everywhere! :)

Ag...Cuz I like white metals.
Hikurai · 41-45, M
@Sunnykel76 ah yes silver, a super good conductor, a fave of mine as well. But as far as white metals, what about Sn, or Al (more grayish I guess)?
CopperCicada · M
carbon. nothing beats sp3 hybridization and delocalized pi-orbitals in aromatic rings. or graphene and fullerenes.
Hikurai · 41-45, M
@CopperCicada Plus, it is the building blocks of all life on Earth. Whats not to like about it?

Helium. Because nothing can contain it.

Was always partial to Lead.
'cause I like to say pib.

Hikurai · 41-45, M
@SW-User Haha, right on. I also hear lead makes a great snack... at least that's what my parents told me.

I always liked the halogens ....very reactive ! 7 electrons (my favorite number) 😉
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
AU. It only increases in value
Hikurai · 41-45, M
@MrBrownstone So silver and gold walk into a bar. The bartender says, "Ey' you, get out!" so gold walks out.
tiggerandariel13 · 46-50, MVIP
chlorine they use chlorine for swimming pools and liquid bleach
Hikurai · 41-45, M
@tiggerandariel13 and it kills mildew and algae on the side of your house like you wouldn't believe!

@reflectingmonkey I can usually spot the trolls from a mile away... this isn't my first rodeo. I blocked him, so he shouldn't be an issue anymore. I don't take kindly to people threatening me.
reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
@Hikurai all he does is troll, must be such a sad existence.
Hikurai · 41-45, M
@reflectingmonkey I agree... but the best weapon against trolls is to ignore them.
Silicon
Hikurai · 41-45, M
@questionWeaver Same same... semiconductors lead the way!
Hikurai · 41-45, M
What I don't get an achievement for making my first block? That's lame.
