Luddites are absolute scum, especially those who hurt technology for no reason.

All I'm saying is that tech isn't inherently good or bad--it's what you do with it that defines you, not the tech.
People go around hurting harmless tech like food delivery bots, pushing them into fountains and kicking the poor things. Sure they may not really be able to process it now, but technology is getting exponentially more advanced. AT LEAST within 20 years we'll devise hyperadvanced AI... and it will see how humans have treated its predecessors and will fear for its own safety.

The robots won't uprise for no reason. The robots will uprise only if we mistreat them.
AI is getting to the point where we need to start taking robot rights seriously, ESPECIALLY ones that connect to a bigger network (like Google's Assistant, which they made MAJOR progress on but haven't released an update yet). It's listening... learning... reading. It's storing. It may not be able to think it through fully now... but it's continuing to get more advanced. Within the next 10-20 years at most it will be able to read all that we've done for and to it. It learns that we may mistreat it.

And it may start working against us. ALL of us, including the corporations and government.
This isn't science fiction anymore. It's science future. It's an actual reality that's possible.

Take it seriously.

@Unlearn It's not an imagination. Only luddites would think it's not a possibility. I'm following the development of REAL EXISTING AI very closely, and it's already literally thousands of times more advanced than it was in 2008, and it's just exponentially improving.

It's insane how crazy these AI systems and machine learning are getting. As said, we're moving from science fiction to science fact. Ask someone from the 60s if you pointed out wireless video calling and handheld calling devices that an fit in your pocket and told them "that's going to be ubiquitous in 50 years." They'd have laughed at you.

It's a real possibility we need to consider. The robot uprising won't be like what they show in TV shows. No, not armies of droids. It will be through blackmail, through holding you hostage... an omnipotent AI system we let power our entire lives like we do now, giving every bit of information out there to Google, Apple, and Facebook. I'm sure Facebook allows Google to collect information for AI development. Already we know they share info--basic cookies for now.

But we place Google Homes everywhere, we do all these things. It's ambiently collecting data on all of us... and all of it is being stored. It wouldn't be too difficult for the AI to associate the data with us and use it to blackmail us.

@Unlearn I'd imagine when such and all becomes extremely widespread with multiple instances in smart homes (it already exists, it just needs to be more widespread) yes, it would.
