Can someone explain this to me?

The chemical and physical properties of substances are determined by their structure at an atomic scale. What does this mean?

And also

Substances change and new substances are produced by rearranging atoms through atomic interactions and energy transfer. What does this mean?

Can you explain them in simple in terms? I don't understand chemistry. Thanks.

You can look at it like atoms (protons, neutrons, electrons) are the building blocks for matter. They form together to create molecules and molecules make up pretty much everything around us. And that's about the extent of my knowledge on the topic so please...no follow-up questions. :)

Think of it like lego.. A few basic building blocks (Electrons , protons , neutrons) fit together to make everything. The join point use something like magnets, some attract some repel, and how they fit can make anything.. Thats way over simple, but it works..

It means that chemistry and English aren't your thing.

@KelseyR Okay so go ahead and explain the question then in simplest terms so I can understand it since you're so smart. So smart that instead of helping me you insult me instead. Waste of time commenting.

I was trying to be helpful- not a smart-ass. If you can't even understand simple sentences perfectly worded then it's best you drop the subject.
