If Santa Claus isn't real, then why does NORAD track him every Christmas Eve

If NORAD says he is real then he is. I watched the tracking for a few hours today- as he was over, Brussels, Belgium, Norway and Germany -later Paris. Gotta admire the area he covers in 24 hours time.
