How do Flat-Earthers explain moon phases?

The moon moves in relation to the sun and different parts are illuminated as viewed from the earth.

My question is why the sun isn't always visible since every flat earth depiction I've seen shows the sun moving in a circle above the earth disk. So it should never set.

@LeopoldBloom Yeah, they say it's like a spotlight, its light can only reach so far. But...that would mean there shouldn't be such things as full moons at night, since at night the sun would be too far for its light to reach the moon at all. For that reason, they say that the moon is self-luminescent...but then...why are there moon phases? XD
