Depends how you define the question, but the possible outcomes are surprising. For one, it might ENCOURAGE polluting the sea. Sure some organisms will be harmed by this, but others, notably certain forms of microbial life and some invertebrates could thrive in vast numbers.
It might also give up, unable to find a way to cheat mortality itself, it may conclude there is no way to save any life form.
