Computer freezes after booting up?

On Monday, I noticed that when I started up my computer, it would freeze after booting up. It would always freeze as windows would pop up on the desktop (for example: every time you boot up your computer, steam would pop up on the desktop). I have a feeling that it has to do with my new windows update, because it was perfectly fine before that.

Any idea how to fix this problem without losing anything?

Try starting in safe mode then rolling it back before the update

@ozgirl512 how do you get to safe mode, and what if it makes me good back to the first day I got the computer (2 years ago)? My sister told me about putting it back a few days, but since I've never done that, the computer could ask me to go back day 1.

@BlackBloodDemon Google is your friend :)
When you do a roll back you get the option of which date to roll back to

@ozgirl512 okay, thank you so much. :)

How exactly will this fix my problem though?

@BlackBloodDemon it may not... Obvious answers are you have a virus, it the update you mentioned screwed up, or something just went kaput!
A rollback should help if it's an update problem, and if something went kaput .... If it's a virus is going to be harder ... If you have access to a second computer, download an antivirus boot disc iso from one of the major companies, it's free, and let it try to sort the issue... you'll need to Google what I just said so you can understand ok?
Good luck
