Oh, and you can turn it, if you live in another part of the world. That's fascinating! :)

@AbbeyRhode I think the website had messed up for a couple of minutes, there are 3 hurricanes, it was showing 6 and then stopped working when I rechecked it...had to reload and now showing 3 hurricanes.

@cherokeepatti Oh, my, 3 is enough! 😲

@AbbeyRhode more than enough and they said before Harvey became a hurricane that it was forecast to be a very bad season for hurricanes.

@cherokeepatti I heard that. I have a go-bag packed, and keep supplies on hand, just in case.

@AbbeyRhode so you live near a coast, glad you are prepared...hope you don't need to use it

@cherokeepatti Kinda. We are in a safer area than those poor souls in Texas and Florida, but we've had a turn.

@AbbeyRhode I live in central Oklahoma and there have been times when a tropical storm hits the Texas coast and travels all the way up over Oklahoma and dumps a huge amount of rain in a few hours of time, not even a hurricane that hit but a tropical storm.

@cherokeepatti That can be dangerous, too, and cause dangerous flooding.

@AbbeyRhode I know, the first time it happened when I lived here I was working till 12:30 at night, a guy that didn't have a car needed a ride home, the water was already up to the curbs and had a hard time telling the road from the sidewalk in the trailer park. Then I got out of there and drove straight to my home in the country but there was a flooded bridge at the bottom of a big hill and I stopped, another worker was behind me and said his car drowned out but he checked the water on the bridge and it wasn't deep and wanted me to take him the rest of the way to his house. I sat there a few minutes and then told him I was afraid to do that. Turned around and went to my aunt's house and stayed there, was soaking wet and cold because in order to see to drive I had to put my window down. The next day the driveway was washed out so I didn't get to work till it got filled in with a shovel.

@cherokeepatti Wow, scary stuff. Definitely best not to take any chances in a situation like that.
