Mount Etna, on the Italian island of Sicily, has erupted for the second time in as many weeks.

The first set of eruptions occurred December 13th and were preceded by a magnitude 2.7 earthquake.

Fountains of lava over 330 feet (100 meters) high were reported; along with a dense plume of ash about 3.1 miles (5 kilometers) high.

More than 500,000 people live around the base of Mount Etna. No damage or injury was reported.
