As a scientist, do i have a duty to try and prove my findings; to be incorrect?

No findings can be suggested as ALWAYS true. They are provisional. The principle of falsification is a necessity in the scientific method. But you don't have to be the only one falsifying your own studies. It needs be transparent, replicable by other researchers and peer reviewed.

Only few exceptions exist that can be considered absolute truths in science. We work with a spectrum.
