Do you think science will ever be able to answer philosophical questions about life?

Like if there is a purpose to life. Or why we are even here. Are these questions even answerable by science?

I believe that we are here because of a chain of events. Our purpose is what we feel it to be as individuals, but there is no wider purpose. It's like asking the purpose of a pothole. It's there because of what came before. It's part of a chain of events. Sentience brings existential questions but there are no global answers. It can be whatever you want, the process will remain the same. You will exist and then you won't.

I have never felt the need to have a bigger purpose. I feel that where science comes in is to fill the gaps in our knowledge so that we don't have to make deities out of rocks.
