Theory or Fact?

A theory is not a fact. They differ by definition. Theory of evolution is not a fact. The law of gravity is
A scientific theory differs from a scientific fact or scientific law in that a theory explains "why" or "how": a fact is a simple, basic observation, whereas a law is a statement (often a mathematical equation) about a relationship between facts and/or other laws.
I should fucken read the question first lol

@Ozymandiaz the theory of evolution explains what happened. But there is no formula. Gravity is a mathematical formula therefore a law of nature

Huh? Do you think there is no "math" behind Evolution? 🤣 A theory can have a ton more math than a law.

@Northwest read the definition. It's how it is as described by the scientific community. 🙄. There is a difference. I didn't make it up. Go check for yourself 🤣

You are aware, that we humans have had a handle on evolution for years While it is some what unpredictable out in the field , selective breeding has produced wonders. Just ask Ray Comfort. Bananas , plants, dogs, cats, horses, cattle, grains. Get your yearly flu shot yet ?
We can do more than explain how evolution happened, we can make it happen. food for thought.
Get the picture ?

Try String theory. You really don't understand science.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Northwest E=mc2. that is is a formula. F=ma. Another formula that are laws of nature. i hope that is clear enough.
Northwest · M
@Axeroberts The actual formula (an approximation that is): {\displaystyle E\approx m_{0}c^{2}+{\frac {1}{2}}m_{0}v^{2}\left(1+{\frac {3v^{2}}{4c^{2}}}\right)}

But it's not like you understand much about science, when you believe there is NO math behind the theory of evolution. Or that what separates a theory from a law is the absence of "formula/math".

@Northwest That didn't render for me. Does it render properly for you? Anyway, please post it as an image instead.

@ninalanyon

It's an approximation

@Northwest There is a nice presentation on the Britannica website which shows the relation between energy and momentum so that massless particles are included.

Wikipedia has a thorough treatment too which also includes @Northwest's power series approximation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass%E2%80%93energy_equivalence
