How can a country earn from its space research programs?

GPS satellites make travel on earth easier and safer

Weather observation satellites allow people to prepare for and evacuate from dangerous storms with days of advance notice

Communications satellites make it cheap and easy to see news and current events from around the world

All these space based systems reduce costs for individuals and businesses, and a penny saved is a penny earned.
