If you have a PhD but no job in your country, what should you do?

Top | New | Old
I know other people with your dilemma. The thing you might do is consider what your PhD allows for working. And then going to worldwide job search. And follow the job.
Keep looking or become an entrepreneur
Lower your standards for awhile and work up.

I would move to Antarctica to stop climate change tipping points there

Integrated climate change issues is the specialty

It depends on what your PhD is in, and how important it is for you to be employed in a related field.
Imhumantoo · 41-45, M
@Northwest Rather, it is related to the integrity of the operational system throughout the country, such as the spread of corruption and nepotism and the lack of opportunities and equal rights.

@Imhumantoo Let's see: you have a PhD in political science and you're in a corrupt country. Unless you're part of the corrupt system, you will be serving coffee.

If you have a PhD in civil engineering, you would have a good job, even in a corrupt country.

So, it's really about what you're PhD is in.

@Imhumantoo What specific research were you doing in those fields (i.e. chemistry and materials science). Also, the reputation of your university is critical for your doctorate to be marketable.
