Politics is entirely by, for and about [i]people[/i]: there are no politics [i]on[/i] an uninhabited island though there may be plenty of politics [i]about[/i] it, in countries wanting it!
One could therefore study its psychology etc;, though it would be difficult to do so without being biased by one's own political beliefs.
Otherwise, "political science" does seem an oxymoron!
