Do you beleive in people going to Mars to live?

I know Musk is trying to make it happen, but do you really think it'll happen?

Do you think it's possible?
If it were cheaper, would you volunteer to live in mars?

I don't understand how that's gonna work.

Gotta ship everything from Earth?
My head is spinning

It is not inconceivable. Before that happens, a supply chain infrastructure must be in place, as relying on round trip supply runs from earth is not feasible.

Musk and a few others don't have the right vision. Bezos does, and one of the reasons he left Amazon, is so he can focus on architecting that infrastructure.

There are enough resources floating around in space, to provide what a small population will need, until better technology capable of terra-forming is developed.

This is not going to happen within our lifetime, probably need another 100-150 years before a rudimentary infrastructure is put in place.

At least one school in the US has established a degree program focused on space infrastructure. Who might hire graduates? Amazon, Boeing, etc.
