Do you beleive in people going to Mars to live?

I know Musk is trying to make it happen, but do you really think it'll happen?

Do you think it's possible?
If it were cheaper, would you volunteer to live in mars?

I don't understand how that's gonna work.

Gotta ship everything from Earth?

If we stay on Earth our survival probably is low.An ELE event such as an asteroid impact could wipe us out.We need to be a multi planet species.Survival probability then becomes high.Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos have ambitions to set up permanent colonies on Mars.Their ambition was never to be rich it is to look for engineering solutions.The next generation of space vehicles will get us to Mars.The main problems on Mars are the thin atmosphere and it's core stopped spinning which meant that Mars lost it's magnetic field.Those will be very difficult to overcome for future colonists.
We can go beyond Mars.The asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter has a vast quantity of raw materials.Enough to cover all of Earth with a building 8000 stories tall.
