Rejoicing then Ranting about my 10k run
😊🙂😊
Proud finisher at yet another event, just 6 weeks from my last one. Timing was better by 1 minute 😂. That must be from having to tie my shoe laces twice as well as pausing to take lots of pics and videos.
I was really happy about making it on time for the assembly, getting warmed up and hyped for it. We had a very faint drizzle half an hour before the start. The weather turned out really nice, though it was really humid, and I made sure I was hydrated well.
The best thing about today's run is that it was held at my alma mater. It was practically running/jogging along college memory lane. I had a recovery meal after the end, an assortment of street food sold at food stalls in front of the main library on campus. And interesting memories came flooding back.
☹️😒☹️
The downside was that I only got less than 4 hours of sleep the night before. The accommodations I booked for the night was a small studio with a small AC that didn't really cool the room down. We are in the wettest season of the year, very humid, which is worse in the city.
I couldn't sleep because the room wasn't cool enough. The cooled air wasn't even reaching my bed. If I walked around 10 feet away from the AC. I could feel pockets of warm air. I moved the 2-seater couch close to the AC, lay on it, tried to find a decent position, but it didn't work.
Went back to the bed, I was fully clothed and thought maybe I could sleep naked, but then I worried about the room being cold and how I might wake up with frozen muscles.
Then there were a few noises I heard which got in the way of my drifting off to sleep. Finally, I managed to fall asleep somehow, and woke up to the alarm, which thankfully, I did not miss.
