I Am a Hopeless Romantic
"Physics Til You Find Me"
Physics til you find me, my dear.
No matter the place, no matter the year;
The world's too big to find you I fear,
so I've left you these breadcrumbs to stand and wait for you here.
Maybe these words will find your ear, and maybe I'll be the one you've waited to appear.
I shout to the world
but who this is for
is one-of-a-kind.
I've left you these words behind so you'll know when you find me.
But the girl who does find me, is questioning this mindfully,
and I don't think you'll know, so this is my attempt to show you the home in my heart I have for you.
The world looks at us, and we stare right back,
the reflection they've tried to cast on us cracked.
But we were always like that.
Always felt broken, re-hearing the expectant words people have spoken.
We tried to fit in, and some have even said we felt paper thin.
Getting blown 'round with the wind,
never forming our own preferences, but they were just drowned out by everyone elses.
—that's what it's like with megaphone senses.
Some have said we lack spine
to say the things that need saying on time.
But the truth is our spine
has carried the weight of the world in our mind.
And it's been so heavy, because we didn't realize we were the only one holding the levy.
To find we are different, took us longer than we'd like to admit.
Some called us a nerd, the "no talking nerd."
Others thought us content to walk in with the herd.
But in reality, we're just a mockingbird who never guessed,
and the reason is because our heart's never been inside of our chest.
We've always looked out for the rest more than the mess of emotions tangled on top of our neck.
And it took us a while to find that not everyone's like that.
If you're still reading, maybe you're feeling like you can relate.
And I hope that's the case.
And I hope to one day admire your face face-to-face. Because I've just felt out of place without you leaving a trace in my world.
I can't tell you who you are so you'll know for sure,
all I can tell you are small things about her.
But that's not all to account for.
You see, it's impossible for me to paint you exactly,
because you know that a change in your story would have changed who you woke up as this morning.
But you're deeper than that, and I love you deeper than a flip of that hat.
You're so good at hiding, at blending in with the crowd you're residing,
so I can't point you out from my side of the planet.
Can it happen without you? Of course not, this is your decision, too.
And just like I choose you, I need you to choose me, too.
I'm waiting for you with more love in my heart than I know what to do.
But know whenever you find me, it will be just as true.
Just don't listen to you saying it can't be,
that's exactly how it'll be for the girl who will find me.
If you fit this desc<x>ription at all,
we might be friends through it all.
All you have to do is call though,
all you have to do is leave me a trail to follow.
And I hope it might come tomorrow?
I know I love you, but the few words I've spoken have left little clue,
for you about me.
Hmm, lemme see XD I'm smiley as can be, even with depression sitting on me,
and I certainly know the best times to laugh inappropriately.
I'm a lover, a thinker, a loner, a tinkerer.
I work hard I play hard, but at the same time—I adore creating things with my mind.
I'm simple and safe, and no judgement will I let form in my brain.
And I'll refrain if it does, from projecting and affecting those whom I love. (which is everyone XD)
What matters most isn't our world.
What matters most are the inner worlds of every creature with consciousness curled up inside them.
It's cheesy as hell, but I love the world with an infinite well, that goes straight through the Earth to the other side... if only I could paint it across the sky!
What feels the best is shouting, Eureka!
Or turning the page to find the answer your seek-uhn. (or not, hehe)
But then again I just love thinkin' in general.
In this world, physics is the place I want to be.
In history? Maybe, but spatial expansion isn't something I'm too crazy about.
The galactic conquest human kind, not the fabric relaxing space and time.
Physics makes me feel good, so at least for my sake, I want to look back and say I understood what this world could be, if not definitely, theoretically.
It's physics til you find me, girl, physics til you find me,
and maybe you can join in and sing along behind me,
then we can sync our timings and harmonize like a choir.
Then my mind will finally open up and blossom like the Shire.
And we'll go on to fan each other like a wildfire,
curiosity reaching the peak of our desire.
And then I'll smile, and tell you how glad I am I didn't have to wait another while.
But while I wait
it's physics til you find me, girl, physics til you find me.
Find me?
