She's Got Stuff
by: Rob Paquin
She's got stuff, but she's so pretty
A woman who surely has her flaws
But I just look right past them
Like a wave upon her shores
And perhaps she doesn't notice
I guess that's still okay
Because I can simply love her
Alone in my own way
The way her smile touches her eyes
Even when she's saddened
The way she's kind to everyone
Even when she's maddened
The way she speaks such simple truths
The way she wishes upon her stars
It all makes me just adore her
And love of all her scars
I see the way she's moving
Even as she carries burdens
I see the way she supports others
And barely mentions how she's hurtin
I see her tiny freckles
And I see her eyes so bright
I've heard her voice a few times
In the middle of the night
The way she arches her left eyebrow
When she's truly happy
The way she smiles through all her pain
And all I can do is gaze at her gladly
She's got stuff and that's okay
I suppose I can adore her from afar
But I'd really love to love her
And erase half of her scars.
