Bad Romance

Have you ever known someone was bad for you and wanted them anyway?

Honestly, this reminds me of an Offspring song, but yes. In my early years, I accepted what I shouldn't have for my life. There was a lot of love, but also a lot of pain, and I couldn't possibly have eyes for anyone else while they were around. But I was the backup that, in the end, wasn't needed.

Even after all this time, I still think about them, and I would have wished to know if they are okay, at least. That being said, life isn't always up to me. I think I have come to the point that even if there are things like "the one," and they were my one, I wouldn't want to pursue it. Not because I feel any less than before, but because there was a lot of hurt from how things were.

I think I was left with a permanent part of myself that went numb. I am not broken, but I have never felt the same as I did.

I feel like we have been down similar roads. There is always a part of you left in people. I was the one who ended at least one relationship where I realised I was a backup. I sent them the song Mercy. Then texted them and said, "If you're going to break my heart, please just break it and leave me to pick up the pieces." A part of me wishes and thinks, "Maybe if.."

@WanderingHelplessly i always thought if i wasnt there to pick up the pieces the other guy left if they even would have worked out but then again i should just be happy.

Ugh... YES. They're usually crazy too. When I meet someone and I find them immediately fascinating I FINALLY get the bell in my head that goes off saying "You like them because they're creepy or crazy... STOP it you little weirdo." I never used to get the bell or the stop it warning before.
