Standards are important in all kinds of relationships...from family, friends, romantic relationships...etc
Some people have different standards or have lower or higher standards then others because they might value different things, or because they have low self esteem or feel intimidated. Or don't know how to have standards, or have always seen people have high standards.
What you see in relationships around you and what you experience plays a role in that.
