When your live-in partner travels away for a couple of weeks, do you enjoy your alone time?

I rather enjoy doing things my way without any critique or questioning.

The most he's ever been gone was 3 days. I had only one 2 week work trip in my career 6 years ago, it was so awesome.

I LOVE and need my alone time but I almost never get it, especially since 2020 when his department went 100% remote.

I get a few hours here or there when he's visiting friends or his parents but otherwise he's always here now and I kind of hate it.

I have taken to opting not to join him at the gym just to get another couple hours a few times but usually our kid decides to stay home too when I do that.

I basically don't get alone time in my own home more than a couple hours a month. 😔
@Starcrossed you need to find a woman’s retreat group and go retreating !

@BiasForAction that's with people though, I want no people.

Lol, yup. Except I'm the one who does the traveling. I don't think I could live with her if I didn't have to travel a couple times a month.

Is that awful to admit??

@sarabee1995 No, every couple has their own way of being in a relationship. There is nothing awful about needing alone/away time.
