How to actually talk to someone you like

There is someone I’m interested in and although I know that we share similar interests I have no idea how to approach them in a normal way. They once messaged me on insta out of the blue (we had barley spoken to each other) and we had a short conversation but I honestly haven’t got a clue how to approach him. Any advice

Back in school days. My friends would send me over to talk to someone for them. That was never a good a thing, because they would always like me because I was so confident.

It's all about getting over the fear and saying fuck it. Just go for it
