Social media and Google is the best way to learn anything what do ever
christylee · 36-40
@Shallowaters Perhaps you didn't experience this but, doing so often come as racist. It's speaking to a particular community based on hollywood or pop culture reference.

If he isn't open to you asking questions and as interested in YOUR cultural differences, do you really want to continue the relationship longterm?
christylee · 36-40
@dancingtongue Make sense, all this while I assume he would already know about me since he approached me first.

My philosophy is: always ask. It is better to ask than to rely on other people’s point of view because even within cultures there are variations. Be respectful when asking that you want to know so as not to offend, and that you respect them and their culture and want to learn.

@Luckylu Very well put i agree that is the best was always ask , it shows a willingness to learn because you care .
christylee · 36-40
@Luckylu @dominateofyou Yes true. This has worked but imagine everything they do is new and some of my behaviors come as rude to them. I'm walking on thin ice here

face it head on

"look we both know we have been raised differently - let's pretend we are from different planets - when one of us behaves differently than our upbringing would have us expect - let's hold up a hand and just explain or ask a question"
