PSA ... White vinegar does not come from white grapes!

Interestingly, balsamic vinegar (which is usually not white) is made from white grapes....it’s the cooking that turns it brown.
White balsamic vinegar is pressure cooked and aged for a short period of time so that it doesn’t turn brown.
Unlike white wine vinegar, white vinegar is distilled from grain.

@ozgirl512 I would think that would be true of most vinegar, but I was just making the contrast between what the different vinegars were made from.....it can really be distilled from just about anything that contains sugar.

White vinegar can be made from anything that yields sugar, but is traditionally made from distilled grains rather than simply chemicals.
