I Am Not Afraid of Snakes

Culebras

Came I upon a snake
One fine sunny day
He lay languishing
Hot and nearly dead
I considered his plight
I spoke briefly to him
Long, lean, shiny reptile
I offered him simple options
I picked him up
I offered him refuge
I offered him a better life
I bestowed upon him
Sustenance
He chose to live
He did not poison me
Though that was certainly
An option
Infrequently
I think on him

Is this to be taken literally or metaphorically? Either way I have NO tolerance for snakes !
I enjoy reptiles, G. I prefer lizards. Komodo dragons. Iguanas. Desert lizards. Monitors. Truth. I am not fond of handling snakes. The constrictors, the pythons, the Anacondas are magnificent. They are not owned.
It can be taken any way you wish, dear one. This one is true. A snake of a man. *grins slightly* How does the poem make you FEEL, G? That is what I want to know.

@PoetryNEmotion: Uneasy in both options. I do not trust snakes and people that I can not trust I see as snakes
@GJOFJ3: I hear you. And he didn't bite me right away. LOL. Does it count if one wants to be bitten? I will ponder that. Where are your 10 word-stories, my dear heart? You are the king of them!
